The Irish government is currently reviewing the Rent Pressure Zone (RPZ) system of rent controls, introduced a decade ago. The RPZ system was only ever designed as a temporary one, while new supply was built to address the deficit of rental homes. However, it has been extended and is now due to expire at the end of 2025.
