Lip-Bu Tan, in his first earnings call in the CEO chair at Intel, addressed the elephant in the room yesterday evening about how things will change at the chipmaker. “There is no way around the fact that these critical changes will reduce the size of our workforce,” he said. The newly installed CEO of the embattled semiconductor giant confirmed, if only vaguely, media reports this week that Intel planned to slash its workforce.
