The RTÉ drama suffered huge audience losses on Wednesday as the plot fizzled and the new cast members returned competent if dull performances. Lead man, director general Kevin Bakhurst displayed a fine line in sartorial elegance and a head full of hair product reminiscent of US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth, while new RTÉ board chairman Terence O’Rourke’s tousled locks suggested he was ready to stand in for Jimmy Page should Led Zeppelin ever decide to reform.
