I’ve followed with interest The Irish Times’s reporting this week on the expected €30 million additional funding request expected to hit taxpayers in preparation for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor. This adds to previous State commitments of €58 million to operate the event and €150 million in accelerated road infrastructure development, according to the newspaper, to whom Minister for Sport Patrick O’Donovan confirmed that extra funding would be required.
