Some claim the Irish are comfortable with hypocrisy. They say we don’t always recognise ourselves in the mirror. Critics claim we say one thing but act differently. Perhaps it’s because we’re a small country and we need to get along, despite our differences. Perhaps it’s because, as a nation, we have strong views about the state of the world but lack agency to do much about it.
