It is nearly a decade since masked bailiffs turned up at Hynes Jewellers on North Main Street, Wexford in April 2016. Founded in 1956 as a family business that specialised in high-end jewellery, Hynes was something of a local institution. By the time the county sheriff moved in to execute a county registrar order in favour of the landlords owed €49,872 in rent arrears, ownership of the firm Hynes Jewellers Wexford Ltd (HJW) had passed down a generation to Frank Hynes, managing director, and two of his sisters.
