Grok was supposed to be great. Launched in 2023 by X owner, Tesla founder and divisive edgelord Elon Musk, the AI chatbot used in conjunction with Musk’s then-latest purchase, X, arrived with aplomb as “the best that currently exists”, according to a Musk post on X, taking jabs at other AI counterparts such as Gemini, Claude or ChatGPT.
