Until the Spring of 1998, the name Warren Buffett meant little to me. Of course, I’d heard of him, but as to what he’d done and how, I was wholly ignorant. I was a bond man. The outlook for interest rates, inflation and budgets deficits was what I cared about. Anything which could impact that – economic growth, energy prices, foreign exchange rates and so on – and anything which could impact them – politics, Geopolitics, sentiment and effectively everything else – was my domain.
