The minority stakeholder in UPMC Kildare Hospital, formerly known as Clane General Hospital, has brought High Court proceedings aimed at stopping an extensive €10 million redevelopment of the hospital. Backed by a financing package from AIB bank, the works include plans for a new endoscopy wing to meet “significant unmet demand” in the Kildare region in circumstances where there is a “lengthy national waiting list” for treatment, the court was told.
