Bisca, a 125-year old Danish biscuit maker, has emerged as the preferred bidder for East Coast Bakehouse, the Drogheda-based biscuit manufacturer. Bisca has annual sales of €65 million and makes 200 different types of cakes and biscuits. It was acquired by Danish private-equity group Erhvervsinvest Management in 2024 from Norwegian food group Scandza. Bisca makes a range of sweet baked goods under the label Karens Bakery, and also owns other brands like the Karen Volf label, Snøfler cakes, and Møn rye biscuits.
