This morning, two weeks into Ireland’s EU presidency, negotiations are kicking off on a technical and potentially arduous file around the transport of military equipment and personnel in Europe. The military mobility package was proposed by the European Commission to create a so-called “military Schengen” where military assets could be moved between member states much quicker and with much less bureaucracy.
