Spanish coffee group Cafento, the owner of Java Republic the Dublin coffee roaster and supplier, has acquired McCabe’s speciality coffee. Led by Stephen McCabe and his wife Portia Reynolds, the Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow-based business is sold in 450 independent cafes around Ireland, Europe, and beyond.  It was founded originally in 1997 by Stephen McCabe’s father, Clive, when he set up a small roastery in the family garage and has grown consistently ever since.
