One of Ireland’s leading wind farm operators has launched a new planning bid to try and complete the Meenbog wind farm in Co Donegal following protracted planning and legal disputes since a serious bogslide at the site in 2020. Planning files lodged during July show that Planree Ltd is looking for substitute consent from An Coimisiún Pleanála to complete the 19-turbine, 90MW project. Planree’s parent company is Enerco Energy, one of Ireland’s biggest wind operators. It is estimated to operate close to 15 per cent of the country’s entire wind capacity.
