The High Court has approved a €750,000 rescue scheme for Rathwood, the Co Carlow-based garden centre which went into examinership last April. Under the plan devised by examiner, Padraic Bermingham of Strata Financial, an external investor will come on board and new management will take control of the business. A special purpose vehicle, Evergreen Home & Garden Holdings Ltd, has been set up to facilitate the investment. Mr Justice Rory Mulcahy made the order after the majority of creditors approved the examiner’s plan to save the business and preserve 62 jobs at the Tullow business.
