AerCap’s mission to recover aircraft and funds tied up in Russia since the Ukraine war kicked off has crossed the $3 billion (€2.6 billion) mark. The Irish aircraft leasing giant, in its latest quarterly earnings, disclosed that in the first six months of 2026 it had recouped $28 million from a Russian airline and its Russian insurer over two aircraft stranded in the country.
