QuinnBet, the online betting business established by the family of the former billionaire industrialist Sean Quinn, has been reprimanded by the UK’s Gambling Commission and will pay more than €710,000 to avoid a formal sanction. The gambling company founded by Sean Quinn will pay £609,104 in a settlement, rather than be slapped with a penalty, over issues related to anti-money laundering checks and oversight of vulnerable customers. The commission found QuinnBet (Gibraltar) Limited, the operator of the gambling platform, was in breach of the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice and Social Responsibility Code Provisions.
