While Sam Bankman-Fried has been sitting in a prison cell since early 2024, up until May of this year, he was still the director of an Irish company called GG Trading Terminal Ltd. Bankman-Fried, or SBF, was convicted of fraud and sentenced to 25 years in prison in what was one of the biggest crypto-crime cases to make its way through the American courts. His company FTX, once a darling of crypto’s push into the mainstream, has become a dirty word in business and tech circles – think Enron or Theranos – after more than $8 billion vanished in 2022.…
