DCC has agreed a deal to acquire the €162m Campus Oil business from the Stafford family. Competition clearance is needed, but the deal will allow the seller to focus on its growing sports retail operation.
In October, LCC Group, a Northern Ireland-based fuel company, struck a deal with the Stafford family to buy their three Campus Oil service station business. As it transpires, it was a sign of things to come. The Stafford Group, the family-owned business that also controls Lifestyle Sports, has now sold off the main Campus Oil business to DCC, the quoted industrial holdings company that owns the Emo Oil brand.
