In March 2015, a new Irish company made its stock market debut in Dublin. Malin Corporation was set up to invest in promising biotechnology start-ups emerging from the transatlantic stream of deals and innovation between the US and Ireland. The company has claimed that its listing was “one of Europe’s largest-ever life sciences IPOs”. Malin grew out of an existing firm, Brandon Point Industries (BPI), and its founders’ ambition to build on their existing investments to go bigger – and go public.
