The Central Bank has intervened in FBD’s High Court battle with four publicans to call on the insurer to fully discharge the multi-million euro costs of the action. The Bank wrote to the parties last night setting out its expectation that the pubs would be indemnified for all reasonable costs, the High Court has heard. In February, the pubs Lemon & Duke, the Leopardstown Inn, Sinnotts and Sean’s Bar won their test case against FBD after the insurer refused to payout on Covid-19 related business interruption claims.
