If investors were hoping to get some clarity today about the status of FBD’s reinsurance cover for business interruption claims, they were sadly mistaken. Instead, in a statement released in advance of the insurance company’s AGM, FBD chief executive Tomás O’Midheach largely sidestepped the issue, merely stating: “We will continue to progress our claim with reinsurers.” It was a curious statement given the issue has been ongoing for more than a year now, ever since publicans contacted the insurer seeking to invoke an infectious disease clause in insurance policies.
