The Court of Appeal, for reasons including the need to combat international tax fraud and tax evasion, last April ordered Airbnb’s Irish arm to turn over to the Austrian tax authorities details of the owners of Austrian properties rented out through the Internet giant’s web platform.  The judgment, published unredacted this week following an in camera hearing, gives details of the information sought by the Austrians, which included the names and addresses of the hosts of 365 identified rental properties in Austria available for rent on the holiday letting site for over €100 per night, together with the host’s date of birth. The…
