Banking veteran Tiernan O’Mahoney is working on a new plan to create an alternative lender called Helios Capital Markets. The former Anglo Irish Bank executive is raising a fund of up to €200 million to provide secured loans to Irish small and medium companies filling a gap in the Irish market left by the withdrawal of Ulster Bank and KBC.
