When developer Joe O’Reilly’s Castlethorn Construction bought Killeen Castle in Dunsany, Co Meath in the late 1990s, the plan was to restore the historic ruins and build a 5 star hotel and golf resort surrounded by 200 luxury homes on the 600 acre site, like the famed K Club in Kildare.  But the economic crash of 2008 intervened.
