A Dublin couple appeared before the Tax Appeals Commission recently facing a tax bill of €1,536,462 which, with tax interest and penalties tacked on, comes in north of €4.5 million. The couple, landlords of 11 properties, also operated a launderette, childminding business, tiling outfit and a foreign property development firm.
