Irish businesspeople have learned to dread emails from their insurance broker. The news is rarely good. Yesterday’s email, circulated late in the afternoon, was a nasty one: Liberty Insurance is pulling out of the commercial liability market. It will honour, and renew, existing policies up until April. But it will take on no new business, and one presumes it will wind down its existing commercial liability business in time.
