Viva, the majority Irish owned Latin American airline, is to become part of the same holding company as the world’s second oldest continuously operating airline, Avianca. Declan Ryan, the aviation entrepreneur and founding partner of Viva, is to join the board of directors of the proposed new enlarged group. The deal is subject to requesting and obtaining all the necessary regulatory authorisations in Colombia and Peru.
