In 2014, corporate accountant turned agriculture technologist Ross Hunt thought of a way to integrate artificial intelligence into farming. Ross, along with his corporate banker brother David and an expert in artificial intelligence, Dr Robin Johnston, designed a technology that could identify the nuanced behaviour of livestock through video. The idea was to give farmers insights into the health of their animals. The brothers founded Cainthus in Dublin in 2016 off the back of the AI software.
