Little over a year ago, Cashels, a Mayo-based designer and manufacturer of farm and construction machinery, exited receivership. Now it is taking a patent infringement suit against a rival producer called Prodig Attachments that trades under the slogan “strength, design, innovation”. Prodig is a family run affair based in Bagenalstown, Carlow. Like Cashels, it specialises in construction and agricultural equipment, including the subject of the legal dispute, bale cutters.
