In the course of a routine security check in July, the European Parliament’s cyber security team noticed an irregularity. Someone had attempted to hack the phone of Greek MEP Nikos Androulakis with Predator spyware. Further investigation revealed that while that hack hadn’t actually been successful, a previous attack by Greek National Intelligence Service very much had.  Androulakis was informed that between September and December 2021, Greek authorities had wiretapped his phone.
