Soon, it’s likely the Government will scrap the special class of planning known as ‘Build-to-Rent’ (BTR).  It is a testament to how utterly bizarre the housing debate is in this country right now that – in the midst of one of the most extreme shortages of rental housing anywhere in the high-income world – it is politically popular to make it significantly more difficult to build new rental housing.
