Overheard in Spar – having spent a sweaty 10 minutes in a lengthy checkout queue and almost at the top – the customer ahead of me quips that the shop is “busy” (hear hear), to which the cashier eagerly explains there are only two staff in the whole store as one is on break and the two others were “sick today – it happens often when the sun shines”.
