The key message emerging from Wednesday’s meeting of the Oireachtas Committee on Media was this: the manner in which the board carried out its corporate governance responsibilities under the current chair appears to be quite different and maybe better than the previous chair. That’s encouraging to hear, but it does raise the question of how competent was the previous Board and its chair in carrying out its corporate governance responsibilities.
