After the election, the new government will focus first on the fiscal bill for their success at the polls. But they should also turn some attention away from macroeconomic policy altogether.  There has too often been cross-party agreement on serious micro-policy mistakes throughout the last Dáil, including free water for urban voters and an all-party agreement on a dysfunctional land-use planning system.
