The decision to curtail government funding to the National Digital Research Centre (NDRC), one of the country’s pre-eminent start-up accelerators, has stunned much of the industry. The NDRC has been in operation since 2006, providing a framework for early-stage companies like biotech firm Nuritas and data analytics business Boxever, to grow into substantial businesses that create jobs and sell into international markets.
