Last week, Daft.ie released figures that hint at the impact of the new rent controls on the Irish market. The headline was noteworthy: in the first weeks after Ireland’s new rental rules came into force at the start of March, the rental market appeared to improve. To see the improvement, it’s worth going back a couple of months. At the start of January, there were fewer than 1,200 homes available to rent across the country.
