The All-Ireland football championship is moving from a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it experience to a you-cannot-afford-to-miss-this sensation. The provincial finals have been reborn in recent years and this year’s contests in Leinster and Connacht in particular spoke to a format renewed and re-energised. There is real purpose, real spirit and true community in what is happening in the provincial championships.
