A relatively small deal announced on July 31 is contributing to renewed interest in the market for pharmacies, at a time when momentum from the concentration observed among larger chains in recent years had subsided. The Kilkenny-headquartered farmers’ co-op Tirlán is acquiring pharmacies at the heart of its catchment in Thomastown and Ballyhale, Co Kilkenny, and Borris, Co Carlow.
