Last weekend, the Tanaiste’s private home was the scene of an anti-vaccination protest. While not the first government Minister to experience this type of intimidation, the incident included homophobic insults. The extremely personal nature of the attack represents, in my opinion, a new low for political discourse in the country, at least a new low excluding the violence perpetrated in the Troubles.
